Our mission is to provide a premier hauling service to the South Carolina area while building and strengthening relationships with our employees, customers, and community. We strive to provide an elite service to our customers that is built upon honesty, integrity, and dependability.
History
In 1935 Luther Alexander (L.A.) Barrier was given a Stubebaker dump truck in Salisbury, North Carolina. He was told that if he was able to use the truck to provide for his family, he could continue to pay for the truck, if he was not able to pay for it, he would have to return it. He began to find work with the local rock quarries and contractors hauling stone and topsoil and was able to pay for the truck.
L. A. went on to buy a house trailer and was able to move with his family from county to county attaining new work for him and his truck. L. A. began to find more work than his truck alone could handle and decided to add more trucks to his fleet.
In 1968 L.A. Barrier & Son Inc. moved to our current location in Lexington, SC. We are now proudly in our third generation of family ownership and have grown to be a very strong partner in the South Carolina hauling industry. We are proud members of the South Carolina Trucking Association and the Lexington Chamber of Commerce.
In 2006 Lisa Tyson was appointed as president of L.A. Barrier & Son Inc., where she still serves today.
We look forward to many more years assisting in growing and strengthening both the Greater Columbia and the South Carolina and economy.
